Evolved Research and Consulting Appointed to Defra’s Research, Development and Evidence Framework

Evolved Research and Consulting is delighted to announce our successful appointment to the Research, Development and Evidence (RDE) Framework led by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra).
We have been awarded places on three key sublots:
- Clean and Safe Seas
- Productive Seas
- Freshwater Systems and Society and the Sea
This appointment recognises our expertise in delivering high-quality, policy-relevant research and evidence to support sustainable environmental management across marine and freshwater environments.
The RDE Framework enables Defra and its partner organisations to commission robust scientific research, technical analysis, and evidence synthesis to inform policy development and implementation. Our inclusion across these sublots reflects our strong track record in marine and freshwater science, stakeholder engagement, socio-economic analysis, and interdisciplinary environmental research.
Through this framework, Evolved Research and Consulting will contribute to:
- Improving water quality and ecosystem resilience
- Supporting sustainable fisheries and marine industries
- Advancing integrated catchment and coastal management
- Strengthening the evidence base connecting society and the marine environment
