ERC undertook a scoping study to assess the feasibility of conducting a national baseline assessment of Abandoned, Lost and Discarded Fishing Gear (ALDFG) and End of Life Fishing Gear (EOLFG) in the Maldives. A process of stakeholder engagement was carried out to ensure support for the work from key stakeholders. The final report reviewing the range of approaches available to determine ALDFG, considers key opportunities and challenges in delivering this work and how these will be addressed.
